" What I immediately experienced from being in Kaya's presence was her state. So many yoga classes are really exercise classes that are not steeped in yogic tradition. This is not the case with Kaya. It was very apparent that Kaya has not only studied eastern philosophy that celebrates the divinity in all, she lives it and it shines through her." K.S., Social Worker, Poet |

Shavasana - Deep profound rest. Bliss. Non-movement; non-action; non-doing. Pure being. Pure presence. Pure awareness. Used to cultivate pratyahara (inward turning of the mind and senses); is the ideal position for cultivating the yoga nidra (yogic sleep) state; is a neutral position that enables quiet mind and total relaxation. Resolution of problematic patterns. This day is dedicated to cultivating the basics of the blissful Spinal Release practice. The morning is all about the art and science of Shavasana. We will unpack {experientially} the fundamentals of the pose - how to prop your body perfectly according to your own spine, how to get MORE out of your shavasana at home and how to self-adjust your shoulders, neck and low back for more physical release and mental quietude. The afternoon is all about Home Practice. If you love how you feel after yoga, want to feel that way anytime you want and would like to be eligible for Deeper Classes and Immersions, this is essential! Learn how to sustain and deepen the openings you get in class. The afternoon includes experiential practice as well as explanation of the purpose of the foundational poses and how to sequence them for effective spinal release. You’ll leave with a few lesson plans for short and long home practices as well as a toolbox that allows you to create your own home practice plans. You'll learn to customize your practice according to your goals and schedule, including both quick-fix practices as well as how to deepen your practice when you have more time Schedule
