YogaSupple Spine
This blissful workshop is designed to give you an internal spinal massage from tail to top. Poses, personalized propping and hands-on adjustments ensure therapeutic poses that reach into and release the deepest layers of spinal tension in your body - the core muscles that connect to your spine. We'll combine fully supported release poses with gentle movements that massage your spinal muscles from the inside, out. You'll find and feel layers you've been ignoring for far too long and leave feeling deliciously stretched and open. Cultivating Contentment Twists and Spinal Arches Spend three hours in bliss... Twist poses are considered the most blissful poses, which quiet the mind, open the heart and prime you for a meditative state. Spinal backbends move your body in the opposite direction from it's normal closed down hunched status. This class gently twists and bends you this way, and that way... you'll twist and arch gently while laying on your back, laying on your belly, and in seated positions, for an amazing sensation of "wringing out" your spine. Leave feeling longer, more open, more flexible and with a settled and happy mind. The workshop is open to students of all levels, but is especially recommended for students with some experience of Deep Release, Svarūpa, or Core Release Yoga. You'll delve into variations of familiar poses and maybe some you've never encountered before. The practice will be embellished with contemplations from the yoga tradition about the qualities of an open heart and settled mind. Open Heart, Quiet Mind Deeper Yoga poses for experienced students intertwined with the sage Patanjali's teaching on contentment allow you ot experience the fullness and joy that is you - already there, ready and waiting for you, but hidden. Open your spine through the ribcage and behind your heart like never before in full three hours designed for the Svaroopa yoga student who wants to go deeper. Standing Flow Get moving, flowing & breathing! In this enlivening yoga class you'll open your spine from tail to top & then carry your openings into a gentle standing flow with rhythmic breathing. A workshop allows you the time to break down each individual pose of the standing flow, learning to get the most out of it. Plus you'll luxuriate in deep spinal release to prime your body for standing and moving. Reverse Your Perspective Experience spinal release yoga poses that turn your body and mind around, and give you a new outlook on yourself, your life and your body all at the same time. You'll learn inversion poses, deep heart openers and a powerful full-body mudra. The whole class is imbued with passages from Patanjali Yoga Sutras - the ancient text that describes the path, purpose and experience of yoga. Prana The Pulse of Life Gain an improved mood, energy and vitality with a yoga experience deigned to increase the flow of prana (life force) within you. This workshop will explore deeper variations and advanced poses not available in your beginning and continuing classes.... leading you from start to finish through a process that will take you to new hights and show you how strong you really are. Classical Poses Explore classical ancient yoga poses while releasing your spine. You'll prime your body and mind with familiar spinal release poses and then delve into classical and challenging poses that take you to the fullest extent and most complete expression. Reach toward the potential of getting even more opening in these full poses than you've been getting in the supported and modified variations you are familiar with. You'll leave inspired to do more yoga, and enthused about how far you've come. Liberate your Joints! The Pawanmuktasana Vinyasa This ancient healing series of movements is a joint-by-joint, yoga journey through the body. We start at the toes and work our way all the way up to the skull for an internal massage! Both relaxing and invigorating, the practice clears stagnant air from the joint space. Bring your stiff, stressed, overworked joints with you and experience a “spring cleaning” for your whole body! The Pawanmuktasana Vinyasa can be done by anyone and is rejuvenating, detoxifying and fun! Open Heart, Quiet Mind Allow your mind to settle into your heart. Join Kaya for a special class the day after Thanksgiving to settle your mind and body and enter the holiday season with an open heart. Start to resolve the physical and mental patterns that block love. Most people are living with their head, ahead of the whole spine - with the ribcage rounded, an arch in the neck, and the head jutting forward - "computer neck", or "vulture-asana". This physical misalignment is directly related to a misalignment between one's heart (emotions, intuition, deep knowing) and one's mind (thoughts, analysis, strategizing). In this class you will release the tensions and blockages to decompress your whole spine and re-align your head so that it is seated in it's throne - the heart. Explore essential release of the muscles that connect your tailbone to your pubic bone, and carry those changes through your ribcage, neck and head. The practice and anatomical explanation intertwine with teachings on supreme love from the yoga tradition. As the knots in your lower spine, upper spine and skull resolve, mental patterns and grief melt away. You'll leave with a calm mind, an open heart, and a relieved neck and shoulders. Yoga Swagger Yoga Walking Lessons Learn to walk, with an open spine! This fun and dynamic workshop focuses on spinal release as well as learning to use your leg and abdominal muscles for staying open while you move. You don't spend your life in a yoga class... so learn to be open and tall when you get up. Home Practice Workshop Love how you feel after yoga? Want to feel that way anytime you want? A home practice allows you to sustain and deepen the openings you get in class. This workshop includes experiential practice as well as explanation of the purpose of the foundational poses and how to sequence them for effective spinal release. You’ll leave with a few lesson plans for short and long home practices as well as a toolbox that allows you to create your own home practice plans.

Hypermobility Recovery Yoga! You may seem to move easily and far into yoga poses but are living in pain or with a very busy mind. The hypermobile body-type (with the mind patterns to match!) is the one most yoga teachers and advanced students have - OVERSTRETCHED ligaments and VERY TIGHT spinal muscles. Others say "wow lucky you are so flexible", while you are questioning whether something is wrong because of the pain in the joints, back, or neck. Furthermore, while folks with hypermobile joints can appear to achieve physical poses with ease, they are often obstructed in experiencing the quiet mind that yoga is designed to cultivate.
