Successfully integrate and apply the course material! Whether you want to implement the hypermobility tools and techniques with group classes, private clients or in your own home practice, you'll have more success with this follow through.

The In-Person course packs about 5 days of material into 2 full days.  Our time together is precious and rare. I want to give you as much as I can {and hope you digest!} during our opportunity to cultivate sangha, practice hands on techniques and dive in more deeply. But my purpose in teaching teachers is to help your personal practice or your business and impact GROW! I want you to utilize.

Immediately after the course, some students will be flying free and applying the techniques... and bumping into some issues that need trouble shooting.  Others will feel need a little extra support to get started. Either way, the phone course is designed to launch you forward.  The best way to digest the information is to use it. During the phone course we will:
  • Spend time on your QUESTIONS regarding the course material
  • TROUBLE SHOOT your hypermobile students and clients
  • Create someLESSON PLANS and private SESSION from the course material.
Please submit your questions and drafts of lesson plans by December 11 HERE

Recovery from Hypermobility Training, with Kaya

You (or your students) may seem to move easily and far into yoga poses but are living in pain or with a very busy mind. The hyper-mobile body-type (with the intriguing mental-emotional patterns to match!) is the one most yoga teachers and advanced students have - OVERSTRETCHED ligaments and VERY TIGHT spinal muscles.  Others say "wow lucky you are so flexible", while you are questioning whether something is wrong because of the pain in the joints, back, or neck. Furthermore, while folks with hyper-mobile joints can  appear to achieve physical poses with ease, they are often obstructed in experiencing the quiet mind that yoga is designed to cultivate.
Picture
  • Pair blissful deep release and lengthening of deep spinal muscles with stabilization and recovery of overstretched ligaments.
  • Explore specialized props and alignments that protect the joints to allow true release of the deepest muscles of the body - the spinal muscles.
  • Learn about the dangers of hypermobility, and important anatomical "dos & don'ts" that so many yoga teachers don't know.
  • Gain insight into the mental and emotional patterns that usually accompany hypermobility.
  • Teachers learn to recognize and work with the specific body-mind type of the hypermobile yogi, and the unusually challenging combination of slippery joints and tight core.
  • Students learn propping and alignment tips for classes and home practice and a deeper understanding of how to modify poses to make them more effective.
  • Leave with a palpable experience of quiet mind that happens easily when the body can finally let go at the deepest level.
