Spa-Style Therapeutic Yoga Class
A hybrid between a private yoga therapy session and a class. Kaya and an assistant make sure you get extra attention and hands-on adjustments in the poses for maximum bliss - this is the spa yoga experience. Each class includes release poses for the whole spine, a deep psoas release, hands-on adjustments, extra cozy propping, soft lighting, guided relaxation, silent pauses between the poses and individual attention. You will float home in your own personal yoga bubble. It is recommended that you have previous experience in public classes or private yoga therapy sessions prior to joining this class. 3-week series runs monthly.
Deeper Yoga Classes
These classes are attended by students with Kaya's permission. You'll most likely need to have a few private sessions or attend the public classes on a regular basis, to prepare you for this level of experience. Your readiness is not about how flexible or fit you are, but rather your knowledge of the basics of the practice, and interest in developing your inner experience with deeper techniques for letting go.
Kaya uses deeper practices and pose variations, more nuanced sequences and advanced hands-on adjustments. A blissfully paced class in a room full of other experienced students intertwines practice with contemplations of yoga philosophy. The effect is a more profound and direct experience of the potential of yoga. Deeper classes are usually taught in 4-week modules, allowing us to more deeply build toward a particular teaching. Blissful Basics Yoga Class
A restorative and inward oriented form of yoga. You are guided and supported through a thoughtful sequence of therapeutic poses that release of the tension in the muscles that attach to the spine. The result is a quieting of your mind and a rejuvenation of your whole body.
Home Practice Workshops
Love how you feel after yoga? Want to feel that way anytime you want? A home practice allows you to sustain and deepen the openings you get in class. This workshop includes experiential practice as well as explanation of the purpose of the foundational poses and how to sequence them for effective spinal release. You’ll leave with a few lesson plans for short and long home practices as well as a toolbox that allows you to create your own home practice plans. Offered once a year - learn more here.
Intermediate Yoga Workshops
These half day workshops with Kaya are ideal for students with prior experience in public classes of Svaroopa yoga, spinal release yoga, deep release yoga or core-release yoga - though yogis with prior experience in other styles who want to dive in at the "deep end" with Kaya, can often gain permission for attendance. In these 3-4 hour workshops, Kaya seamlessly weaves together three core elements - 1) A Deep Release yoga practice for decompressing the spine and quieting the mind, 2) An extra focus on a particular pose (such as Triangle Pose, or Cat Stretch) or direction of movement (such as Spinal Twists or Heart Openers), and 3) A contemplative theme rooted in the yoga tradition (such as the description of Quiet Mind from the Bhagavad Gita, or the teachings on the remedy for suffering from Patanjali Yoga Sūtras). You'll leave these workshops with a deep inner experience, as well as a profound feeling of inspiration in your yoga practice. Offered seasonally, learn more here.
Full day or weekend immersions in which Kaya selects a suitable theme based on the season and the individuals attending. The immersion incorporates deep release yoga, deep guided relaxation, guided meditation, pranayama (breathing practice) and knowledge from the vedic tradtition to support you in a fully inspired process! Topics vary! Most recently Kaya has taught Immersions on Warrior Pose and the study of Karma, Dharma and Yoga and Triangle Pose and the Three Essences of Existence. Open your body, mind and heart for prenatal comfort, smooth delivery and easeful post natal healing. Mother and baby will benefit from the specialized pelvic release, heart opening, and quieting of the mind and nervous system that Deep Release yoga provides with special props and poses for each stage of pregnancy. The benefits of Deep Release Yoga during pregnancy include improved physical comfort, increased energy, relief of low back pain, protection of your ligaments, relaxation that will help you during pregnancy and labor, stamina and better posture. You will also benefit from Yoga Therapy during pregnancy. Pregnant women in the 2nd or 3rd trimester can join any of Kaya's yoga classes or schedule private yoga therapy or home practice tutorial with Kaya. You can join any class with Kaya, and you will be given extra care with poses and propping that are just right for your stage of pregnancy. We love having pregnant women in the classes.

Hands-On Yoga Therapy
Deep spinal release & letting go facilitated by a restorative experience of hands on adjustments, holding of the body, support with props, ayurvedic assessment tools and subtle body awareness for a truly healing and transformative experience. Get deep release of the tight spots in the pelvis, heart and skull, with a stabilization and realignment of of injured or hypermobile lumbar, neck, hips and shoulders. Specific therapeutic spinal release techniques are chosen according to the needs, tendencies, and experience level of the client. Deeply nurturing, restful, blissful, and healing on all levels. Yoga Therapy is great for beginners or experienced students who want to explore more opening. Kaya uses specific angles to reach into and release the muscles that attach to your spine, which has an impact on your whole body. This approach emphasizes "core release", beginning with the tailbone, into and through your sacrum, lumbar spine and psoas, and into your ribcage and neck. Ayurveda Consultation & Followups
An Ayurvedic consultation offers insight into and perfect-for-yoga simplified strategies for your individual constitution as it interacts with your karma, diet, lifestyle and schedule. We will design a personalized healing program based on these factors, that is realistic and effective given your current life circumstances. Kaya's recommendations vary according to what she calls your "key access point to healing" based on her perception of your individual underlying cause of imbalance. Home Practice Tutorial
Establish or deepen a home yoga practice according to your body and goals. You'll leave with a home practice "tool box" of notes and a simply structured laid out plan.
