Mayurveda - Conception Superfoods
These are a guideline... if there are foods you LOVE and crave that aren't on either list, they are likely just fine.
Remember that these are client pages for your eyes only... and as a client you know you can always check in with me if you have any questions or concerns! If you would like to share this info... please pass on this link.

I will include dairy recommendations, however, it is completely safe and healthy to have a nutritious PLANT BASED pregnancy. The principle behind dairy for conception is that it is rich and nourishing to the reproductive tissue and builds ojas {your reserves!} so you can replace dairy with other rich, sweet, cooling and nourishing foods such as dates, basmati rice and avocado. Any dairy you have should be organic {even better if raw}. And if you choose to forgo milk, butter and cheese, you MIGHT consider taking ghee.
I believe {and Ayurveda concludes} that eating well pre-pregnancy {both conceiving parents is ideal} sets you up for healthier reproductive tissues, easier time getting pregnant, a more nourished 1st trimester, pregnancy and more easeful postpartum period, a child who will his or her veggies, and in the longterm, a healthier transition into menopause.

10 Starter Tips for Conscious Conception
- Start taking your food-based prenatal vitamins at least 3 months in advance of conception if possible. Make sure that the D in it is D3 {not D2}. Future Papa can take a mens multi too!
- Build healthy eggs. Take EXTRA care of yourself during the week between your period and up to and including ovulation. This is when you make some awesome super-charged nourished eggs. Baths, self-massage, early bedtime, meditation.
- Improve your self-nourishment and nurturing NOW... you'll need reserves! This means plenty of sleep, hydration, nourishment, outdoor time and exercise.
- Stop drinking alcohol and smoking. Now. Just stop. One glass of wine per day max, okay?
- Reduce or even switch from coffee to tea naturally decaf coffee... it's MUCH easier now than later.
- Don't overplan or worry about birth, child-rearing, money, and work-leave. Plenty of time for planning. One thing at a time.
- Eat LOTS of asparagus {future papa too}. Seriously. Do. It. It builds a great baby. See more on conception super-foods below.
